Biography: Son of John MacDonald; born Polmont, 18 April 1893. M.A.. 1913; M.B., 1916. Enlisted, Seaforth Highlanders (T.F.), 1908. A U.O.T.C. Commissioned, 5th Seaforth Highlanders, 2 September 1914 ; Lieutenant R.A.M.C. (Special Reserve), 1916. Served-Home, 1914, 1915, 1919; France, May-October 1915; Macedonia, Bulgaria, August 1916-January 1919. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, June 1919. Mentioned in despatches, November 1917.
