Biography: Son of John MacDiarmid; born Aberdeen, 18 November 1877. M.B., 1902. Surgeon, R.N., 1904; resigned, 1914; re-commissioned, 1914. Served with Grand Fleet, 1914-19. Final rank, Surgeon. Thanked by Admiralty for services, September 1919.
