Biography: Son of Charles McCombie; born Alford, Aberdeenshire, 16 March 1890. M.B. 1913. Commissioned, R.A.M.C., 30 September 1914; attached to the 58th Field Ambulance. Served - Home, 1914, 1915; France, July 1915-April 1919. Final rank, Acting Lieutenant-Colonel. Military Cross, 1918.
