Biography: Son of John McAldowie; born Aberdeen, 16 May 1852. M.B. (Highest Honours), 1875, M.D., 1879; Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1887. War work - M.O., Voluntary Aid Detachment Hospital, Leckhampton, Gloucestershire, 4 August 1914-March 1919.
