Biography: Son of Charles Stobie; born Whalsay, 13 July 1894. Science 1912-13. R.A.M.C. (T.). A.U.O.T.C. (Medicine). Lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery (T.), 1913-14. Re-commissioned, South Staffs., February 1915. Resigned owing to ill-health, November 1915. Commissioned, Royal Flying Corps, as Fighting Observer, July 1917. Served-Home, France. Final rank, Lieutenant.
