Smith, William Allan
Biography: Son of Sidney Smith; born Boyndie, 19 May 1867. M.B., 1890. Joined Aberdeen University Bearer Company on its formation. Commissioned, 1st Volunteer Battalion Lancashire Regiment, 1894 (later, 4th East Lancs. Regiment. (T.F.). Mobilized, 6 August 1914. Seconded for duty with R.A.M.C, November 1915. Served-Egypt, September 1914-May 1915; Gallipoli, May-August 1915; Home, 1915-19. Final rank, Major. T.D. Mentioned in despatches, August 1919.
