Simpson, Arnott, Prizes; Fife Jamieson Medal; Struthers Medal and Prize; Anderson Scholar; Carnegie Research Fellow. War work-Bacteriologist, King George's Hospital, May-December 1915. Commissioned, Lieutenant-Colonel, Royal Army Medical Corps, 8 December 1915. Member, Medical Advisory Committee, (Mediterranean), 1915-17 ; Consulting Bacteriologist, Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, 1917-19. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. C.M.G., 1918.
