Biography: Son of Alexander Young; born Chapel of Garioch, 26 February 1876. M.B., 1898; D.P.H., 1899. Commissioned, Indian Medical Service, 1901. Mobilized, August 1914. Served - India, 1914; Egypt, Mesopotamia, November 1914-May 1916. Final rank, Brevet-Lieutenant-Colonel. Brevet-Lieutenant-Colonel, June 1916. Mentioned in despatches, October 1916.
