Biography: Son of David Playfair; born St. Cyrus, 5 February 1896. Science, 1919-. Trooper, Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, 20 May 1914. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Served with King's Own Scottish Borderers. Served-Home, 1914-16, 1918-19; France, December 1916-April 1917, November 1917-August 1918. Final rank, Corporal.
