Biography: Son of William M. Philip; born Truro, Nova Scotia, 6 May 1867. M.A., 1888; M.B., 1891. Commissioned, Royal Navy, 1894. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Served-Grand Fleet, North Sea, 1914-15, 1915-17; served in H.M.H.S. ""Soudan"" (Suvla Bay), July-August 1915. Final rank, Surgeon-Commander.
