Biography: Son of Alexander M. Paterson; born Longmanhill, 2 June 1886. M.A., 1908. War work-Special Constable, Friockheim, 1914-16. Private, 3rd Gordon Highlanders, 16 February 1917. Served with 1st (Reserve) Garrison Battalion Highland Light Infantry, 12th Battalion Highland Light Infantry. Home, 1917-18; Belgium, 1918-19. Final rank, Lance Corporal.
