Biography: Son of William Duncan; born Fyvie, 26 April 1886. M.A. (II Eng.), 1909; Seafield English Medal. Private, 9th (Scottish) Cadet Battalion, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders (Special Reserve), 3 March 1916; commissioned (2nd Battalion), 7 July 1916. Served-Salonika, 1916-18; Kurdistan, January 1918-March 1919. Final rank, Captain.
