Biography: Son of William Forbes,M.B.E., Cowhythe, ex-Convener of the County of Banff. Born Fordyce, 23 February 1894; educated Fordyce Academy; student in Agriculture, 1911 -14. While in the Agricultural Department he was a member of "U" Company, and went on Military Service with the 4th Gordons at the outbreak of war. He crossed to France at the beginning of February 1915, and was killed at Hooge on 17 June in the same year.
