Biography: Son of William Robertson; born Dingwall, 28 March 1877. MA., (I Ment), 1898. Private, Poona Volunteer Rifles, later Indian Defence Force, 36th (Poona) Battalion, June 1915. Served-India, 4 years. Final rank, Company Sergeant-Major.
