Biography: Son of James Nicol; born Methlick, 26 July 1880. M.A.,1903. Sapper, 1/3rd (Highland) Field Company Royal Engineers, 30 October 1915; attached to 402nd, 548th, 411th Field Companies. Served-Home, 1915-18; France, Belgium, July 1918-February 1919. Final rank, Company Quarter Master Sergeant.
