Biography: Son of Edward Tennant; born Cults, 26 September 1892. M.A. (I Class), 1914; Simpson Greek Prize; Sea-field Latin, Town Council Gold, Medals; Fullerton Scholar. Commissioned, Royal Garrison Artillery (S.R.), 30 November 1915; attached to 21st, 73rd, Company's. Seconded to Indian Mountain Artillery. Served-Home, 1915-16; India, June 1916-October 1917; Mesopotamia, November 1917-June 1918; N. Persian Force, June 1918-February 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
