Biography: Son of Alexander Cruden, merchant ; born New Pitsligo, 12 December 1897 ; educated Gordon's College ; student in Arts, 1915-16. In July 1916 he enlisted in the 4th Battalion Gordon Highlanders, and after training at Ripon went to France, February 1917. He was killed in action at Roeux, 23 May 1917.
