Biography: Son of William Keir; born Fordyce, 25 January 1884. M.A., 1905. Private, 1st Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, 1903-06; Gunner, Singapore Volunteer Artillery, 1906-08; enlisted, Malay States Volunteer Rifles, February 1915. Served - F.M.S., Singapore. Final rank, Sergeant.
