Biography: Son of Barnard G. Hoare; born Inverness, 4 August 1896. M.A. (I CIass), 1919. Private, Inns of Court O.T.C., 15 December 1915; commissioned, 4th Cameron Highlanders, July 1916; attached 11th Scottish Rifles, 10th Devons, 2nd Cameron Highlanders. Served-Home, December 1915-November 1916; Macedonia, November 1916-November 1918. Final rank, Lieutenant.
