Biography: Son of George Gray; born Barre, Vermont, 4 May 1896. M.A., 1916. Enlisted, Auxiliary S.B. Reserve, R.N., 10 January 1916; Surgeon-Probationer, R.N.V.R., 5 April 1918. Served-Chatham, Portsmouth, First Baltic Squadron (H.M.S. ""Watchman""). Final rank, Surgeon-Sub-Lieutenant.
