Biography: Son of Alexander Gordon; born Banchory, 4 February 1884. M.A. (II Ment), 1907; George Heriot's School, Officer Training Corps 2nd Lieutenant, unattached List, T.F., 1910. Mobilized 2nd Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion (S.R.) Royal Scots, 14 August 1914; attached to 17th Royal Scots. Served-Home, 1914-16; France, August 1916-February 1919. Final rank, Major. Military Cross, 1918. Croix de Guerre (Belgian).
