Biography: Son of George Girdwood; born Aberdeen, 16 June 1896. Medicine, 1915-. Pioneer Chemist, Special Brigade, Royal Engineers, September 1916. Served-France, November 1916-May 1918. Final rank, Pioneer Chemist.
