Biography: Son of Macpherson G. Gerrard; born Lumsden, 24 November 1887. Arts, 1906-08. Censoring duty, 1914-15. 2nd Lieutenant 116th Mahrattas, Indian Army Reserve of Officers, 15 January 1915; attached to 114th Mahrattas. Served-Tochi Valley, April-December 1915; Mesopotamia, Civil Administrator, February 1916-. Final rank, Major. C.I.E. Mentioned in despatches, October 1918.
