Biography: Son of Thomas F. Fernandez; born Cubert, Cornwall, 27 January 1861. M.B., 1889; M.D., 1895. Captain, South African Medical Corps, 1891; Boer War, 1900; Major (Res.), 1913. Medical Officer, Salisbury Isolation Hospital, Durban. Final rank, Major. Mentioned in despatches, December 1918.
