Biography: Son of Charles Farquharson; born Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, 29 September 1881. M.A. (II Math.), 1905; B.Sc., 1906. U Company, 1st Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, 1901-04. 2nd Lieutenant, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, August 1915. Served-Home, 1915-16; France, Belgium, Italy, January 1916-February 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
