Biography: Son of James Emslie; born Lumphanan, 19 June 1883. M.A., 1906. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, December 1914; commissioned, February 1919. Served-Home 1914-15, 1918-19; France, March 1915-December 1917. Twice wounded. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant. Military Medal, 1916. Further information in Aberdeen University Review Vol XXIV, p.188.
