Commissioned, 333rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, 5 January 1916 ; served with 330th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery; 66th Division. Signal Company, Royal Engineers. Home, 1916-17 ; France, February 1917-April 1919. Final rank, Acting Captain. Two mentions in despatches, November 1918, March 1919.
