Biography: Son of William Crighton; born Alford, Aberdeenshire, 24 September 1894. M.A., 1914 ; B.Sc. (Agr.), 1920. Private, U Company, 4th Gordon Highlanders, March 1912 ; commissioned, 24 February 1918. Served with Labour Corps. Home, 1914-15, 1916-18; Belgium, France, February-October 1915; Salonika, July 1918-January 1919. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant.
