Biography
Of Ardoe. Son of William Gordon, physician and Professor of Medicine, King's College and Jean Sandilands, daughter of James, commisary of Aberdeen. Educated at King's Coll., M.A. 1661. Rector of Banchory-Devenick, 1673, deposed for publishing "The reformed bishop" 1680, but reinstated. Married Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of William Forbes of Corse. Had two sons, James and George. Died 1714.
King's College Faculty minutes record that 'Twelve law books which had been sent by the Parson of Banchory for the M.D. diploma which had been granted to his son, George Gordon, on 14 July 1696, were to be placed in the library'
