- John Cheyne of Fortrie, advocate, was provost of the town council of Aberdeen in 1593. Educated at Louvain. Mentioned as member of the council in the years 1594, 1596 and 1597. Champion of craftsmen's rights in Aberdeen. Commissary clerk of Aberdeen.
Married Jane Coutts and had one daughter, Besse, b. 1574. - Biography Date
