Crosbie, Andrew

Andrew Crosbie of Holm FRSE FSA(Scot), Scottish lawyer and antiquary. Educated at Dumfries Academy and at the University of Edinburgh, admitted to the Faculty of Advocates on 6 August 1757. Crosbie was a discriminating book collector and a founder and first fellow of the Society of Antiquaries at Edinburgh. His drinking led to an early decline, yet he was elected vice-dean of the Faculty of Advocates on 24 December 1784, two months before his death.
