Rogers, Hester
- Biography
- Rogers (née Roe), Methodist writer. Converted to Methodism in 1774. Despite her family's opposition, she began to attend Methodist meetings. She kept a diary and met John Wesley in 1776 and thereafter corresponded regularly with him. She married James Rogers (1749-1807) in 1784 and moved to Ireland. She wrote a number of letters which were published along with her diary. Died Birmingham 1794 after giving birth to her fifth child.
