- Count Boutourlin (or Buturlin), one of the most outstanding book collectors of nineteenth-century Russia. Boutourlin (or Buturlin) was a Russian soldier, military historian, politician, and librarian of the Imperial Russian Library. His first library was destroyed during the burning of Moscow in 1812). Boutourline formed his second library during his 15 year residence in Tuscany.
