Biography

Theologian. Master of Glasgow Grammar School 1574-82. One of a commission of scholars creating a new Latin grammar 1575. Became a university regent 1582. Minister of Paisley in 1584. Principal, University of Glasgow 1585-1614. Placed on various commissions by the General Assembly. Supervised university reforms 1602. Scottish high commissioner 1610-4. Died 1615.
