P. J. Anderson Philately Collection

P. J. Anderson Philately Collection

A collection of volumes, mostly serial titles, on philatelic topics. Almost all were amassed by Peter John Anderson, LLB, MA, FSA, JP (1853-1926), Librarian at the University of Aberdeen from 1894 until his death. In addition to interests in local history, as a co-founder and Secretary of the New Spalding Club from 1886, Anderson was a noted philatelist. He contributed to journals from an early age, served as President of the Aberdeen and North of Scotland Philatelic Society and eventually signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1921.
