University of Turku

The University of Turku is a high-level, globally recognised and highly regarded research university. Our strengths are multidisciplinary research and research-based education. We foster learning and academic freedom. We operate in international networks and participate in the development of Finnish society and our region.

The University of Turku was established in 1920 and today we are an active community of 20 000 students, out of which 1500 are international students. We welcome annually around 500 incoming exchange students to study at our seven faculties and collaborate with over 400 universities worldwide.

Each faculty offers a range of courses in English and students are often able to combine studies from different faculties. Our friendly and helpful staff aims to offer high-quality services for incoming exchange students to facilitate a smooth start of studies in Finland. Each exchange student will have a personal tutor, who helps with practical matters and introduces the Finnish way of life and academic culture to their tutees.
