Bishop's University

Located on the traditional territory of the Abenaki people and founded in 1843, Bishop’s University is quite unique amongst other public, government-funded Canadian Universities. Tucked between two rivers in the green hills of the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, their 550-acre campus hosts a diverse and multitalented international student body of about 2,800 full-time students, many of whom live right on campus. Combined with exceptional indoor facilities such as bright and modern classrooms, art studios, theatres, laboratories, libraries, an observatory, art gallery, and stunning sports and recreation facilities, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Although located in the province of Québec, Bishop's is an English-speaking university, and all courses are taught in English. However, when students leave campus to go shopping or sightseeing, they will hear both French and English; a most advantageous and rich learning experience. Bishop’s is situated in the bilingual community of Lennoxville, a largely anglophone community within Sherbrooke, a predominantly Francophone, mid-sized city rich in culture, history and diversity, located about 1.5 hours southeast of Montreal. The region is known for offering a safe and welcoming atmosphere, exceptional nature and outdoor recreational opportunities, and a great quality of life.

"I felt I grew a lot as a person and learned a lot about myself and the world and different cultures, I also loved the opportunity to learn academically abroad."
