Ghent University

Established in 1817 after a proclamation by King William I, Ghent University has 11 faculties and is renowned worldwide in biotechnology, aquaculture, microelectronics and history. It is a top 100 university that has numerous Nobel prize winning alumni. The university's credo is "Dare to Think' and they encourage free thinking and learning amongst their students. Based in the historical city of Ghent in Flanders, the university is a multicultural institution that has a vibrant student scene.
