University of Alicante

The University of Alicante was founded in 1979 on the structure of the University Study Centre (CEU). The university is divided into 8 centres, 18 institutes and 58 departments, with most of the courses taught in Spanish, but with a wide range of courses taught in English and Valencian. Moreover, the university hosts the largest open-access repository of digitalised Spanish-language historical texts and literature from the Spanish-speaking world.

Located on the Mediterranean coast of Southeastern Spain, Alicante is a popular tourist destination famous for its golden beaches, vibrant cultural life and warm weather. The university is only a 10-minute drive away from both the city centre and the closest beach.
