Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam is an internationally renowned research university founded in 1880. Since its foundation, VU Amsterdam has stood for scientific and value-driven education, research and knowledge transfer. The university has more than 24,000 students, of which over 4000 are international. VU Amsterdam offers many English-taught courses in a variety of subjects, ranging from arts & culture and social sciences, neurosciences and computer science, to economics and business administration.
The university is located in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, one of the most multicultural cities in the world, with the largest concentration of students in the Netherlands and where English is the second most common language spoken.
