Established in 1979 the university has three campuses in the south east of France. It offers exceptional study conditions and teaching. It is recognised internationally for its research into mountains, mechatronics, tourism, and energy sectors. The university invests in the academic excellence of its students and encourages quality research , innovation, and international exchanges.
The university has three campuses across the region with each focusing on different specialties. It is near to the Swiss and Italian borders and works with research labs across both borders. The cities all have large student bases and a lot of Erasmus students who hold many events and there are many historical sites in the region.
