Hanken School of Economics is one of the oldest business schools in the Nordic countries, founded in Helsinki in 1909, and a leading university with 110 years of experience in research and education in economics and business administration. Hanken also holds the three most prestigious accreditations for business schools, EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, which only one percent of business schools worldwide have achieved.

Our languages of instruction are Swedish and English, with 45 % of the courses on BSc level, and 65 % of the courses on MSc level, given in English. Hanken is internationally oriented, with more than 130 partner universities worldwide, teaching 1375  BSc  students, 1160 MSc students and 115 PhD students, and welcoming approximately 220 incoming exchange students each year. As a research-oriented business school research is carried out within all departments, with a special focus on four selected areas of strength a) Competition Economics and Service Strategy b) Financial Management, Accounting, and Governance c) Responsible Organising and d) Leading for Growth and Wellbeing.

Located in the city centre of Helsinki, Finland, students have the opportunity to engage in a very active student community, while also appreciating the local natural beauty of the happiest country in the world.
