Officially established in 1969, but with roots dating back to the creation of the University of Brittany in 1460, Rennes 2 University has a heritage that continues to be uniquely linked to the development of Rennes and the region. Rennes 2 University is the largest centre for research and higher education in the fields of human and social sciences in western France. They strive to provide excellence through education and innovation within a dynamic learning environment. The university welcomes more than 24,000 students who study a wide range of courses from five fields: arts, literature, languages, humanities and social sciences, as well as sports activities.
