- Sourcing a traineeship
We have suggested some websites below for you to begin your traineeship search. When considering potential opportunities, please bear in mind the funding criteria.
We also recommend visiting the University’s Careers and Employability Service. Our Careers Advisers can give support and advice with your CV, covering letter and interview skills. You can also make use of the European resources and Career Connect on their website.
- Apply now
For Language students planning their compulsory year abroad in 2021/22, or those going on Industrial Placement in 2021/22, the application for Erasmus+ funding for these traineeship types will take place between 15 - 26 March 2021.
For eligible degree projects abroad, summer opportunities and graduate traineeships, we will now consider applications for Erasmus+ funding on a rolling basis.
NB You must submit an application at least 4 weeks in advance of your start date. Final year students considering a graduate traineeship must submit the application while still enrolled as a student at University of Aberdeen. Applications submitted post-graduation cannot be considered.
Here's how to apply:
Step 1: Review our application instructions
Step 2: Complete and save your Traineeship Statement of Motivation in advance of applying
Step 3: APPLY NOW
Step 4: Once you have submitted the application, please notify firstname.lastname@example.org. We do not receive alerts from the application system and will not check for new applications unless notified.
If you have any questions about the application process, please email email@example.com.
- What happens next?
You will be notified of the outcome of your funding application in due course and successful students will receive an award offer letter. The offer letter needs to be signed and returned by the stated deadline in order to confirm your funding.
If you have applied for funding speculatively then this funding award will be conditional, subject to you securing a traineeship which meets the eligibility criteria. You should inform the Erasmus Team if any details of your traineeship change e.g. duration, host organisation.
All students holding a funding award must attend a mandatory Pre-Departure Briefing. These are held in April and December and you will be notified which Briefing you are expected to attend, depending on when your traineeship takes place.
All paperwork related to your traineeship will be issued to you by the Erasmus Team in advance of your start date, with full instructions given for completion.
