Aberdeen has a range of sports on offer. You are sure to find something that suits you!

The Granite City is home to Aberdeen Football Club, a team that has won two European trophies. 'The Dons' compete in the Scottish Premiership, Cup competitions and the Europa League. Take a trip to Pittodrie on a Saturday afternoon to watch the Reds in action.

Just over the road from Pittodrie is the home of Aberdeen Lynx, an ice hockey team who play in the Scottish National League and are former play-off champions. This is a fast and exciting sport that is well worth a watch.

Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire has over 50 golf courses. There are championship courses including Royal Aberdeen which hosted the Scottish Open in 2014. Some of the courses hug the east coast with other inlands taking in the stunning Aberdeenshire scenery.

There are also a number of gyms and sporting facilities across the city. The amazing Aberdeen Sports Village has a range of top facilities including a 3G football pitch, indoor and outdoor athletics tracks and a gym. Aberdeen Aquatics Centre has a Olympic Standard 50m Pool, a 25m pool, diving boards, sauna and steam room.

If you want to get involved with a sport while you are a student here, there is a wide variety of clubs to choose from and you can join more than one! Find out more about the sport societies at the University of Aberdeen.
