Oral Cancer Prevention Initiatives by visiting consultant Dr Hemantha Amarasinghe

Dr Amarasinghe is a consultant in Dental Public Health and Head of the Dental Health Department in the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka.

As part of the activities of the recent University of Aberdeen internal GCRF funding that the Institute of Dentistry secured, Dr Hemantha Amarasinghe will be visiting between the 22nd and 26th of July.

During his visit, he will be giving a talk about some very exciting oral cancer prevention initiatives that he works on in Sri Lanka. His talk will cover Sri Lankan oral health status including oral cancer situation, Control activities conducted, Risk factor model development and its application, way forward in oral cancer control and areca nut control.
