Unlocking data to support parliamentary business

Dr Francisco Perez-Reche from the Department of Physics has been awarded a Scottish Parliament Academic Fellowship.

He will collaborate with the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe) on a project to develop an AI-powered tool to extract and summarise key information from NHS reports, supporting parliamentary scrutiny and transparency.

The work aligns with the Scottish Government’s AI strategy, exploring how data science can enhance evidence use and policy insight.
