Heterogeneous Catalysis
Heterogeneous Catalysis
Our research involves the design and application of heterogeneous catalysis with a particular emphasis on using supported metals for hydrogenation processes. We are particularly interested in establishing structure-performance relationships so that catalytic traits can be tailored to improve activity and selectivity. In recent years we have explored a number of methods for modifying catalyst design which include:
- Alloy formation and controlling surface composition
- Modifying surface properties by adsorption of organic ligands
- Forming supported metal chalcogenides
