A fabulous event at this great University, for primary and secondary pupils, led by Professor Barbara Fennell, Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Aberdeen, George Roberts, Headteacher of Danestone Primary School, Aberdeen and SCEN.

Nicola Horsburgh has recently commenced a three-year British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship based at ELAC. Her research project is titled 'China and Nuclear Responsibility in the Global Nuclear Order' and explores what it means to be a responsible nuclear armed state, with a special emphasis on China.

The Emergence of Industrial Relations in China.Professor William Brown Emeritus Professor of Industrial Relations.Currently on a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellowship researching the protection of international labour standards. He is the author and contributor to many publications on industrial relations and related topics.

In his lecture for us Professor Li will discuss the origins of Chinese culture and the extraordinary scope of Chinese archaeology, talking about digs, discoveries and developments in recent years.

Professor Michel Hockx from SOAS will speak on 'Postsocialist Publishing: Internet Literature in China'.
