Some of our fantastic research fellows communicated their work to families and schools for British Science Week.
Dr Jacqui Hutchison, a postdoctoral researcher in the Person Perception Lab, gave talks on stereotypes and Psychology to local primary school children. She explained what sterotypes are and how we come to hold them, both from a social and a cogntive perspective. She also talked about what it's like to be a research Psychologist and what skills you might need to become one.
Dr Chris Luke and Dr Gillian Slessor, postdoctoral researchers on the ESRC-funded Social Attention and Aging project, wowed adults and children alike with interactive eye-tracking games and visual illusions. Postgraduate student Gosia Kasprzyk also helped out at the event, which was held at the Aberdeen Science Centre as part of a science Discovery Day.
